Editorial and clinical review policy
We sell a medical device and we publish clinical information about it. Those two things have to be kept honest and separate. This page sets out exactly how.
Who reviews our content
Every clinical guide is reviewed before publication by Dr. Mutasem Aldhoon, Pediatric Orthopedic Consultant, who leads Baby Hip Clinic and treats developmental dysplasia of the hip in practice. The reviewer's name and the review date appear on every guide.
What sources we accept
- Peer-reviewed orthopaedic and paediatric literature indexed on PubMed
- National and international clinical practice guidelines (AAOS, AAP, USPSTF, NICE and equivalents)
- Established measurement standards such as the Graf ultrasound classification
- Direct clinical experience of the reviewing consultant, clearly identified as such
We do not source clinical claims from blogs, forums, manufacturer marketing, or AI output left unchecked. Our reference list shows the foundational sources in full.
How we separate commerce from clinical advice
- No guide recommends buying our harness as a treatment decision. Treatment decisions belong to your clinician.
- Every guide carries the same requirement: a Pavlik harness must be prescribed after imaging, and fitted and monitored by a clinician.
- Where a guide would sensibly send a parent for assessment rather than to checkout, it sends them for assessment.
- We do not publish paid guest posts, sponsored clinical content, or affiliate placements.
What we will never publish
- Invented testimonials, ratings, or outcome statistics
- Claims that the harness cures DDH without clinical supervision
- Specific dosing, wear schedules, or strap settings presented as personal advice
- Before-and-after imagery of identifiable children
How often pages are updated
Clinical guides are re-checked at least annually, and immediately whenever a relevant guideline changes. The last review date is shown on each guide. If a page has drifted out of date, we would rather remove it than leave it standing.
Corrections
If you are a clinician or a parent and you find something on this site that is wrong, email care@pavlik-harness.com with the page and the problem. Clinical corrections are prioritised and we will state on the page when a substantive correction has been made.
Independence
Pavlik Harness Store operates the store. The reviewing consultant reviews clinical accuracy and does not receive a per-sale commission for doing so. Where the consultant's own practice or clinic is mentioned, it is disclosed and linked openly rather than presented as an independent third party.
